VISIT KINGSPORT. NEW BRAND, NEW AMBASSADOR.
The Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau (KCVB) was established in 1981 and for over thirty-six years has been referred to in true acronym fashion. KCVB or Kingsport CVB can be tricky as you rattle off similar sounding letters at rapid speed leaving many confused as to how the program serves the community. As the city commemorates 100 years of progress, the organization celebrates over three decades of growth and experience in the tourism industry. In order to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and purpose, the Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau is launching its new brand and will now be referred to as Visit Kingsport.
The brand isn’t the only thing changing for Visit Kingsport. The team of nine, full-time employees dedicated to attracting tourism to Kingsport, is proud to present Porter, Visit Kingsport’s newest ambassador. Porter’s design utilizes a simple, stick-figure concept, donning a Kingsport hat and a whimsical dog, “King”. Porter will be included on all marketing collateral, alongside Visit Kingsport’s new tagline “Visit Kingsport. We’ve got stuff.” The purpose of this ambiguous tagline is to elicit the question “what kind of stuff” and drive potential visitors to the Visit Kingsport website, visitkingsport.com and social media outlets.
Can’t wait to meet Porter? Porter will soon become very visible across the city. When individuals spot Porter, they are encouraged to take pictures and post them to social media with #KingsPorter.
