Kingsport’s fourth-annual Red, White & BOOM Independence Day Celebration is back and better than ever in 2025. This year’s event will feature food trucks, fireworks, live music and more! Red, White & BOOM takes place on Main Street in the Centennial Park area of Downtown Kingsport on Saturday, July 5th. Activities kick off at 5 PM.

Red, White & BOOM offers an afternoon of free, live music. Entertainment on the Cardinal Glass Industries Stage will feature headliner, Night Ranger. Music kicks-off at 5:30 p.m. with local favorite, Donnie & The Dry Heavers, followed by GRAMMY Award Winners Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley.

Coming to fruition in the early months of 2018, Donnie & The Dry Heavers, strives to bring a fresh take to the musical styling of the Indie-Rock/Jam Band genres. Hailing from Kingsport, TN, this 4-piece group includes: Chance Lawson (vocals/guitar), Andrew Kramer (vocals/guitar), Cameron Hite (vocals/drums), and Magus Vaughn (vocals/bass). Together, they continue to deliver memorable performances to audiences young and old, holding the music above all else in their travels.

For those looking to enjoy great food, around a dozen food and drink vendors will give attendees an opportunity to try some of Kingsport’s best. Whether you love BBQ, pizza, ice cream or tacos, we’ll have something for everyone. Food trucks will include: Dips Ice Cream, Southern Craft BBQ, Jones Family Kettle Corn, Beach Hut, Opie’s Pizza Wagon, Baked & Loaded, Hot Dog Hut, Chef’s Pizzeria, Ethan & Nora’s Lemonade and more. Beverage options will include beer, soda, water, shaved ice and lemonade. Downtown restaurants will also be open and ready to serve you.
For the family…
It’s not Independence Day without a fireworks show! Fireworks will be shot from Cement Hill, located behind Citizens Bank in downtown Kingsport. Red, White & BOOM attendees will have a great view of the show and kids of all ages will enjoy watching the sky sparkle. If you’re watching the fireworks from another location in Kingsport, tune into Electric 94.9 to stream the soundtrack. The fireworks show will begin immediately following the concert at approximately 9:45 PM.

This family-friendly event is completely free. It takes place on Main Street in Downtown Kingsport. Click here to find a map of free downtown parking locations. Come early and visit a variety of downtown shops and businesses. Make sure to bring a chair or blanket with you for comfortable viewing of the concert and fireworks. No outside alcohol is allowed. Along with the food vendors, beer, soda and water will be sold on site. No grills, open flames, tents or any other items staked in the ground are allowed. All items are subject to search.
