Dreaming about that vacation that you weren’t able to take last year because of the pandemic? Well, now is the time to start planning, just in time for National Plan for Vacation Day on Jan. 26!

When you start thinking about where you want to go and what you want to do, we certainly hope that Kingsport is in your plans. Whether you’re thinking about hitting the road now, for spring break, or this summer, you will find plenty to do that will send your spirits soaring. After such a long 2020, we could all use that!

In fact, 97 percent of all survey respondents from a recent U.S. Travel Association poll said that having a trip planned makes them happier. So, why not go ahead and start planning your trip to Kingsport, whether it’s vacationing with friends or for a family getaway.

We make it easy for you, we’ve taken care of the planning! We’re excited and ready to welcome you back safely with three Mini-Vacation trip itineraries that we know you’ll want to experience:

    • Outdoor Adventure: There’s so much natural beauty in Kingsport and since getting outside is so good for your soul, it only makes sense that you would want to #GetIntoTheOutdoors with us. Bays Mountain Park and Warriors’ Path State Park are gorgeous year-round and offer plenty of hiking, biking, fishing, and boating opportunities. Warrior’s Path also offers camping so that you can enjoy some quality time under the stars. And, if golf is your game, Cattails at Meadowview, one of the top public golf courses in Tennessee, needs to be on your bucket list.

    • Family Fun: Kingsport is an ideal destination for families looking for fun while still being able to distance socially to stay safe. Heading up the list is the iconic Carousel, one of the most popular and unique attractions in the region. The menagerie-style Carousel features 32 hand-carved wooden animals, chariots, and rafter-based creatures. There’s also great fun to be had at Putt Putt Mini Golf and OMG Mini Golf, as well as enjoyable activities for families at Bays Mountain and Warriors’ Path, and don’t forget the cupcakes and other delicious treats!

    • Nightlife and Music: In Kingsport, the music is sweet, and the libations are always flowing. The birthplace of the Original Long Island Iced Tea, we’ve got some great watering holes where you’ll be able to tempt your taste buds with craft beer, moonshine, and cider while listening to authentic, regional music that will soothe your soul and get your feet moving.

In 2020, American workers left an average of 33 percent of their paid time off on the table. Don’t let that happen to you this year! Traveling is the number one way people want to spend their vacations, and 84 percent of Americans plan to do just that in 2021. Why not make Kingsport your destination this year? There’s space for everyone – and plenty of fun on the horizon! We’ll see you soon!
