It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year and that means there are plenty of fun and exciting Kingsport holiday events on the calendar that you won’t want to miss!

We kick off November with the 40th Annual Christmas Connection that will take place at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium. The Nov. 1-3 event, sponsored by the Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts, hosts many of the region’s best arts and crafts vendors.

This FREE event offers holiday wreaths, floral arrangements, primitive and country crafts, Christmas ornaments, pottery, stained glass, woodcrafts, handmade soaps and lotions, jewelry, leather crafts, baked goods, and much more!

The Christmas Connection hours are noon- 7 p.m. Nov. 1, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 2, and noon-4 p.m. on Nov. 11.

Following is a list of other upcoming can’t-miss Kingsport events:

Nov. 7 – The Sip & Stroll Holiday Open House in Downtown Kingsport will definitely get you into the holiday spirit. Many downtown shops will stay open late, offering drinks, treats, and special deals from 5-8 p.m. so be sure to come out and join in on the fun!

Nov. 23 – The 77th Annual Santa Train will once again brighten up the holiday season as it travels from Pikeville, Ky. to Kingsport in celebration of the season. The train will make 14 stops in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee distributing more than 15 tons of clothing, food, candy, toys, and gifts to thousands of people before ending its journey in Kingsport at 3 p.m. Riding the train, along with Santa, will be country music star Marty Stuart. Santa’s Depot at Centennial Park will also be taking place that day, offering a variety of activities for children from 1-4 p.m.

Nov. 30 – Small Business Saturday in Downtown Kingsport takes place annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving, helping you get your Christmas shopping done early by shopping small and shopping local! You’ll find some great deals in Downtown Kingsport during this annual holiday shopping tradition aimed at supporting small businesses and our local economy.

Dec. 5 – The Sip & Stroll Jingle and Mingle will help you finish up that holiday shopping done and have plenty of fun while doing it! A number of downtown shops will stay open, offering drinks, treats, and special deals from 5- 8 p.m. Sip and stroll your way through the unique downtown shops and find something for everyone on your list.!

Dec. 7 – Christmas in the Country at Exchange Place celebrates the holidays and the winter season from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at this free event which caps the year the historic site. The event features fresh greenery and trees, handcrafted wreaths and roping, and other holiday decorations. More than two dozen area and regional vendors, displaying unique folk arts and crafts will be on hand. The Yule Log Ceremony takes place that afternoon as well, at 4 p.m.

Dec. 7 – The Kingsport Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting in Downtown Kingsport helps us celebrate the holidays as a community. Family fun and photos with Santa start at 2 p.m. while the parade will start at 6 p.m. You won’t want to miss seeing everyone celebrating Christmas as the iconic parade moves throughout downtown and through legendary Church Circle. Right after the parade, the annual tree lighting will take place in Church Circle.

Dec. 7-9 – An 1818 Christmas at the Netherland Inn is always a fun holiday event at one of Kingsport’s most beautiful and historic sites. Celebrating the Christmas holiday in traditions that date back to the early 1800s when Richard and Margaret Netherland hosted lavish parties, complete with great food, lively music and Civil War reenactments. Tickets are $10 per adult and children under 6 will be admitted free (maximum cost is $30 per family). Hours are 6-8 p.m. Dec. 7-8 and 2-4 p.m. Dec. 9.

Dec. 9 – The Holiday Loft Tours in will take you to some of our most beautiful downtown lofts on this self-guided tour. You’ll get an inside look at downtown living at one of our most popular holiday events. If you’ve been on the tour before, make sure you come again because new lofts have been added to the tour that will help get you into the Christmas spirit! Tours are from 2-5 p.m. and tickets are $25.
